Health Care Mindset

The health care debate has been and will continue to be an ongoing debate with passion fueling the opposing sides. The passion comes from belief or mindset.

A recent news article stated, “People get deeply attached to their beliefs,” says Steve Hoffman, a visiting professor of sociology at the University of Buffalo. “We form emotional attachments that get wrapped up in our personal identity and sense of morality, irrespective of the facts of the matter.”

The article goes on to say that even when a logical explanation is presented, an individual with an opposing belief will discount the logic completely in order to maintain the ‘truth’ of their belief. Read more »
